To All Baha’is in Electoral Unit 15 Pennsylvania
Dear Friends,
We are excited to share with you the plans for this year’s Baha’i Unit Convention which will be held on SATURDAY, October 3 in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. The Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Bethlehem and our local Baha’is are eager to host what we hope will be an uplifting and meaningful experience as we perform our sacred duty of electing our Delegate for the National Convention.
We hope you will save this date and join us. As we work diligently to build community within our local areas we should not forget that getting together with our fellow Baha’is is an important part of Community Building which we should not neglect. With that in mind we have planned what we hope will be some delightful experiences for the Convention.
First some details.
- Location: College Hill Moravian Church, 72 W. Laurel St. Bethlehem PA 18018 (Very near Moravian University)
- Time: Registration begins at 10:15am. Convention proceedings begin at 11am. Expected closing: 3:15pm
- Lunch is being provided by the Local Spiritual Assembly
SPECIAL EVENTS AT THE CONVENTION THIS YEAR.
- We are planning a convention full of singing and music, a guided meditation to prepare us for voting, a family drum circle for everyone led by a professional during our lunch break.
- For Jr. Youth ( ages 11 – 15) and Youth (15+) : learning and drumming with our drum circle leader, a service project, sacred dance instruction, outdoor activities ( perhaps a visit to the Moravian University campus)
- For Children ( ages 5 to 10)- Arts, dance, games, participating in the family drum circle, weather permitting: outdoor activities. Anita Jester is coordinating the childrens class program. We are happy to let children ages 3 and 4 participate in the class as long as a parent or relative accompanies them.
NOW FOR THE EXTRA FUN PART
- Our local Baha’is are offering overnight hospitality to those friends who may live at a distance and would like to enjoy a weekend experience in our lovely Lehigh Valley region. Come enjoy Convention and then stay overnight so you can have a relaxed Fall weekend. ( Contact Shirin Khalighi who is coordinating the hospitality if you are interested: 484-894-1666)
