Amongst the most influential women of the 19th Century – Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B Anthony, Sojourner Truth, Lucretia Mott – one more name must be added – Tahirih (Taw-here-ray) – Persian Poetess and religious scholar (1815-1852). You are warmly invited to hear her poetry, learn of her remarkable life and the amazing historical coincidence that linked the cause of the emancipation of women in the United States to a tiny hamlet in Iran.
The Bahai’s of the Nazareth Area are pleased to host our dear friend, Laura Lawrence, on Tuesday August 26 at 7:00 PM to share her knowledge and research into the historical impact of the life of Tahirih. Please come if you can.
